Beach House BS

I recieved a lovely letter from Sunset Properties a couple of days ago informing me that I owe them $90.25 for cleaning the house we left on Thursday, 10th February. What a load of b*ll*cks I thought, but that's not half what "I thought since speaking to the 'Housekeeping Supervisor' at Sunset Properties on the phone this afternoon. The way she described the state of the house, it was as if all that cleaning we did that Thursday morning never happened. Some of what she said was blatent lies too. I'll run through what I remember...
  • All glass tops were dusty. BS! the table was wiped down everyday, so that's just not possible.
  • Sweet/candy wrappers on the floor around the coffee table. BS! The floor was swept.
  • Kitchen counter tops dirty, not wiped down. BS! I wiped that down thoroughly Thursday morning.
  • Some bedrooms had covers hanging off the beds and not left made up (as they were found). BS! I checked all the rooms and all the beds were made up, as we found them.
  • Sand and hair in the showers. Probable BS!
  • Hair and dried urine round the toilets. Probable BS!
  • A used toilet roll behind one of the toilets. Big deal!
  • Fridge had food particles in it. Probable BS!
  • Microwave was dirty. Probable BS!
  • Downstairs floor was not swept. BS! Three or four of us helped sweep and mop the floor!
I really can't comment on the state of the bathrooms as I never inspected them that closely, but ALL the rest of it is complete tosh, which I did say to the woman, but she was such a stuborn cow, not conseding to anything and interupting/talking over me much of the time. I ended by saying she'll have to wait for me to get my next pay cheque...daft bint!

Anyway, there's the issue of the house not being 'ready' when we arrived. The water, TV and telephone didn't work. The locks were hard to use and judging by the layer of dust on everything, no one had been there for some time... as expected though. The woman said she wished we had reported these things when we got there, about the dusty/dirtyness of the place atleast. I said we had, she said not. After the phone call, I spoke to J about it, who said to me that when reporting the water, tv/cable and telelphone problems to the emergency maintanence after we arrived, J was asked how the house was, and she said it was dusty and obviously winterised, but it wasn't a big deal. I called back the woman at Sunset Properties and told her this and she just said she was sorry that we had a different memory of events but Jana never said that the house was dirty at all and just said it was the house was fine. We then had another bout of what she claimed was wrong with the place and I was all but calling her a liar. I said I had checked most of these things over myself before I left and there's just no way some of the things she says can be true. She just answered back by realling off the list again. I handed the phone to J for her to have a go. J was pretty much accused of being a liar and had all the same BS that I got, and it got so heated that J had to hang up on the tart!

That's how it is currently left. It's their/her word against mine/ours. I can't be risking having any kind of legal action taken against me, not that that's likely. No one's called back since and they've not tried calling here. Their customer service is really bad. Safe to say we wont be using this company again. I'm composing an email to send to them, I may back it up by post too. Unfortunatley I won't know who reads it as it's just a company email address that I have.

If anyone would like to call Sunset Properties and hear the BS for themselves, feel free, on (+001) 800-525-0182 and ask for the Housekeeping Supervisor, or the manager if you like! The house was called 'Sunset Dream' rented on Feb 7 - 10, under my name.
