Diary of a mad movie

This weekend a new film opened at the cinema here called Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Ok, title pretty much explains it all I think. It's had trailers during various ad breaks here and was a sponsor of the WWE last week to get it a bit more attention, but there's really not been any hype about it and it wouldn't have really registered on our radars if it wasn't for the obnoxious amount of screenings it has at our local AMC cinema! It's certainly no cinema 'event' like say Star Wars or Jurassic Park, but somebody's desided it was to take up 5 screens yesterday! That meant there was 27 chances to see it in one day! I mean, take 'Meet the Fockers' for example, that got a lot of press coverage here with it being the sequel to the very succesful 'Meet the Parents', with its various big names in it appearing on various talk and celebrity gossip type shows, but it was only on one, maybe 2 screens on its opening week. Diary of a Mad Black Woman doesn't have anyone that I, or anyone that's commented to me, have heard of in it. Bizaro.
